Houston—March 5, 2012—In 2005, Origin began its relationship with the Houston Area Women’s Center, designing a newsletter for the organization. Seven years later, the original designer of that newsletter completed the branding for the annual Race Against Violence, including t-shirt, poster, postcard and brochure design.
Said Senior Designer Michelle Coffey, “When I started at Origin, the Houston Area Women’s Center was one of my very first clients. It was so rewarding to work with them again, and to see the results of our efforts, including so many people unified first by the cause and second by their t-shirts!”
The event included a competitive 5k run, a non-competitive 5K walk, a non-competitive 1K for kids and a post-race festival. Proceeds support the Houston Area Women’s Center, which has provided haven and support for survivors of domestic and sexual violence for 35 years. Origin’s support extended to the race day itself, as partner Shawn Collier’s family, Michelle and her brother all completed the run/walk.
