Houston—February 27, 2012—Origin won its fourth Best of Show in five years for an online annual report created for global clothier Men’s Wearhouse. With this award, Origin has won two print and two interactive best of shows for clients in the banking (MetroCorp Bancshares), energy (Apache Corporation and CenterPoint Energy) and retail (Men’s Wearhouse) industries. Origin also earned a Special Judges Award for Apache Corporation’s sophisticated and compelling 2010 print annual report.
Last year’s Addys honored the first in a global video series written, produced, filmed and edited by Origin for Apache Corporation. This year’s Addys honored the second and third videos in the series with two gold and two silver Addys. The projects, filmed in Australia and Canada respectively, were created in close collaboration with Apache.
Video and print work for two organizations close to Origin’s heart—Fund for Teachers and the University of Houston Graphics Alumni Partnership (UHGAP)—were also awarded gold Addys. Origin wrote, directed, edited and supervised scoring for a video showcasing Fund for Teachers, which provides grants to enable teachers to identify and pursue opportunities for deep personal and professional growth. Origin also wrote and designed UHGAP’s first ever annual report for the arts—a piece that highlights the work of UH alumni and students and espouses the importance of graphic design in the world.
